Microneedling

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create small punctures in the skin. At Madavi Aesthetics we use Rejuva Pen. The idea behind microneedling is to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which are proteins that give skin its structure and elasticity. Collagen and elastin production naturally decreases as we age, which can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. Microneedling can be used to treat a variety of concerns, including acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, and large pores.

IS THERE DOWNTIME?

The procedure is generally well-tolerated and has minimal downtime (2-5days). You may experience redness and swelling for a few days after the treatment, but these side effects typically resolve quickly.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

The results of microneedling can vary, but many people notice an improvement in the appearance of their skin after a series of treatments. We recommend at least 3 sessions 4 weeks apart to see optimal results. Microneedling can also be combined with PRP to enhance the results, accelerate healing and reduce inflammation.

DOES IT HURT?

Microneedling is painless. Numbing cream is applied for 30 mins prior to treatment to minimize any possible pain or discomfort.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling is a versatile treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of the skin on many areas of the body. Some of the most common areas treated with microneedling include:

  • Face: Microneedling is commonly used to treat acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, and large pores on the face.
  • Neck: Microneedling can be used to improve the appearance of the skin on the neck, including sagging skin and wrinkles.
  • Décolletage: The skin on the décolletage (chest area) is thin and delicate, and microneedling can be used to improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone.
  • Hands: The skin on the hands is thin and prone to showing signs of aging, and microneedling can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

Microneedling can also be used to treat scars and stretch marks on other areas of the body. The specific areas that can be treated with microneedling will depend on the individual's concerns and goals for treatment.
